International Mindedness

International mindedness is a view of the world in which people see themselves connected to the global community and assume a sense of responsibility towards its members. The IB Learner Profile and Approaches to Learning (ATL) provide the dispositions and foundational skills for the development and demonstration of international mindedness. The learning community envisions, creates, articulates and models a culture of international mindedness. An internationally minded learner takes action for positive change.

An Internationally Minded Learner

At The Vale School Muthaiga, we cultivate internationally minded learners who excel in communication, are open-minded, knowledgeable and embrace principled, caring values. They utilise curiosity and research skills to explore global and local issues, critically assess challenges and engage thoughtfully in opportunities. Our students take action for positive changes, promoting intercultural understanding and fostering caring relationships. They boldly take risks for personal growth and deeper comprehension of others. Our curriculum emphasises international mindedness and growth mindset, aiming to develop well-rounded individuals who appreciate diverse cultures and histories, recognising our shared responsibility for the planet.
